QR Code Generator

Guide

Heads up — this tool has no server. The QR code is built entirely in your browser — nothing you type is ever uploaded anywhere.

Redirect to a web page

Point the QR code straight at any web address.

How It Works

  1. Pick a content type — a web page, a contact card, plain text, an SMS, an email, a phone number, an app link, or a social profile.
  2. Fill in the fields for that type — the QR code on the right updates as you type.
  3. Customize the colors and error correction if you like, then download it as a PNG or SVG, or copy it straight to your clipboard.
A decision made building this

Multi-URL and dual-platform QR codes encode all their routing data directly into the URL itself — no backend or database needed to resolve a scan.

Features

  • Nine content types in one tool — URL, PDF link, multi-URL, contact card, plain text, app link, SMS, email, and phone
  • Live preview that updates as you type, with adjustable error correction
  • Foreground and background color customization with quick presets
  • Download as a high-resolution PNG or a scalable SVG, or copy the image directly
  • Runs entirely in your browser — nothing you enter is ever uploaded or stored

Use Cases

  • Printed menus, posters, or packaging that link to a web page or PDF
  • Business cards or name badges that save your contact details in one scan
  • Store signage that opens WhatsApp, dials your phone, or pre-fills an email
  • App download cards that send iPhone and Android users to the right store automatically

Advantages

  • No account or signup needed to generate or download a QR code
  • Nothing you type is ever sent to a server — the code is built in your browser
  • Free, unlimited downloads with no watermark

Limitations

  • There's no save/history for generated QR codes — download the ones you need before leaving the page
  • "Multi-URL" redirects to a random link on each scan rather than tracking scan counts or letting you edit the destinations after printing (that needs a backend, which this tool doesn't have)
  • A QR code can't be edited once printed — if the destination link changes, you'll need to generate and reprint a new code

FAQ

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes — generating, customizing, and downloading QR codes is completely free, with no account, signup, or watermark.

Do my QR codes expire?

No. Every QR code this tool makes (except Multi-URL and dual-platform App links) encodes your content directly, so it works for as long as the destination link or content is valid — there's no subscription or expiry tied to this tool.

What's the difference between PNG and SVG?

PNG is a fixed-resolution image, good for most uses. SVG is a vector file that stays sharp at any size, which is better if you're printing the code very large, like on a poster or banner.

Will the QR code still scan if I change the colors?

Yes, as long as there's enough contrast between the foreground and background colors. Very light foreground colors or low-contrast combinations can make a QR code harder for some scanners to read — the built-in presets are chosen to scan reliably.

How does the "Multi-URL" option work without a server?

The QR code encodes a link back to this site with your list of URLs built into the link itself. When someone scans it, their browser picks one of your URLs at random and redirects — no database or account needed on our end.

Can I upload a PDF to be hosted here?

No — this tool doesn't store or host files. For the PDF type, paste a link to a PDF you've already uploaded elsewhere (Google Drive, Dropbox, your own website), and the QR code will point straight to it.
